About the school
Tidemill Academy is a successful and innovative school based in Deptford. It is a two-form entry mainstream primary school with a Nursery and has the capacity for approximately 480 children. Judged to be an Outstanding school by OFSTED in July 2015, Tidemill Academy, give pupils an excellent education ensuring that they have the best possible life chances. Recognising that this means focussing on the whole child to ensure that each and every pupil reaches their potential.
The school have a highly creative approach to teaching and learning to ensure that pupils are motivated and challenged, enabling them to make excellent progress in both the core subjects and the wider curriculum. Through Tidemill’s skills and attitudes, taught across the curriculum, the school foster a positive and resilient approach towards learning and life. We know that strong links between school and home give children the highest chance of success. Therefore, there are many opportunities for parents and carers to get involved in their children’s education, including ‘Stay and Play’, Inspire workshops and other family learning experiences.

What we are looking for in our next headteacher
We are seeking an outstanding headteacher, or an outstanding deputy headteacher, who is an innovative, responsible and insightful professional, with the passion, drive, and enthusiasm to build on Tidemill Academy’s considerable strengths. You will be able to lead, motivate, develop, and inspire a school team of staff and governors who are passionately committed to giving pupils a wide range of real-life and enriching experiences, within a culture of highest expectations.
You will demonstrate a clear understanding of what it takes for a school to retain an ‘Outstanding’ judgement and the competency to lead the school to this guaranteed outcome. In addition, you will be able to demonstrate your ability to manage, prioritise and organise your workload, to show flexibility and resilience and recognise the need for pastoral care for all members of the community of the school. A commitment to well-being and mental health is essential.
